A native of Michell County, North Carolina, Mr. Lewis had lived in the Limestone Cove community for the past 15 years. He was employed by Dealers Supply Co. of Johnson City as a cabinet maker.

Shot by Eddie Kenneth Dayton, his 17 year old son-in-law. Eddie was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and given 1 to 5 years.
