Visitation for Raymond Rames Chappell, 80, of Casa Grande, a missionary for the Assemblies of God, will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Assembly of God. The funeral there will follow at 10, with the Rev. Donald Rich and the Rev. Ed Bradford officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

Pastor Chappell was born Oct. 16, 1916 in Russellville, Arkansas, and died Jan. 24, 1997 at Desert Valley Care Center.

He was appointed as a missionary by the National Home Mission Department of Assemblies of God in 1967. He was a missionary to the Tohono O'odham Nation at Hickiwan Village from 1969 to 1996. He also served other churches in Missouri, California, Arizona and Kansas.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie; a daughter, Carolyn R. Prettyman, of Ellendale, North Dakota; and two grandchildren.
