Tavares, Fla., Nov. 23. -John Revels, convicted of the murder of his wife and his brother on December 9 last, was hanged here this afternoon. He was pronounced dead thirteen minutes after the trap was sprung.
When he was removed from the death cell Revels asked that his friends and relatives be allowed to hear his last statement in which he declared he had no hatred in his heart and that he had made peace with his Creator. His execution, he said, he desired to be a warning to others.
At the time of the double homicide Revels was an escaped convict having been convicted of carrying concealed weapons. He was convicted of slaying his wife and brother with a shot gun.
