Lillian Marie Martinson, 104, a lifetime resident of Amor, died Thursday, July
13, 2000 at the Ottertail Nursing Home. She was born August 28, 1895 at her
family's homestead in Amor to Emanual and Anna (Anderson) Johnson. She was
baptized and confirmed at the Amor Zion Lutheran Church where she was a member
for her entire life. She remained on the family farm until the age of 25 when
she married Edwin H. Martinson of Maynard on December 21, 1920. The couple made
their home in Battle Lake for one year and then moved to Amor and established
the Amor Garage in 1922 which they operated together for many years. She enjoyed
quilting, baking and being with her family.

She is survived by her only daughter, Melva Jean (Merton) Baumgartner of Amor;
three grandchildren, Kerry (Jane) Baumgartner and children, Kelli and Kyle of
Amor, Cynthia (Michael) Holstrom and children, Tyral and Stacy of Amor, Kim
(Joye) Baumgartner and children, Anna and Max of Champlin, MN and numerous great
nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin; two sisters and
five brothers.

Visitation: Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Nilson Funeral Home in Battle Lake
and one hour prior to the service at the church

Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church of Amor
