48, of Pleasant Plains died at 10 p.m. Friday at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 31, 1942, in Springfield, the daughter of David W. and Maxine E. Kunz Richards. She married Mick Curry in 1961 in Pleasant Plains.
Mrs. Curry was a member of Peter Cartwright United Methodist Church in Pleasant Plains. She was a graduate of Lincoln Land Community College and Sangamon State University. She was the mayor of Pleasant Plains from 1985 to 1989. She taught at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Grade School in Springfield, St. Mary's Grade School in New Berlin and New Berlin High School.
Surviving are her husband, Mick; one son, Chad, at home; father, David W. Richards, and mother, Maxine E. Richards, both of Pleasant Plains; one sister, Mrs. John (Linda) Walbaum of Jacksonville; four brothers, David A. "Sparky" Richards of Athens, Gary A. Richards of Pleasant Plains, Larry E. "Mouchie" Richards of Springfield and William G. Richards of Athens; several nieces and nephews; and one great-niece.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Peter Cartwright United Methodist Church, Pleasant Plains, with the Rev. James Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery.
McCullough Funeral Home, New Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.
