A former bread salesman and grocery store owner, he died at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2000, at his home in Pierre Part. He was 95 and a native of Pierre Part. Visiting was at Ourso Funeral Home, Pierre Part, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, celebrated by the Rev. Clarence Waguespack. Entombment in St. Joseph Mausoleum. Survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law, Lillian and Lester Chedotal, Ann Giroir, Jeanne Foles and Kitty and Henry Blanchard, all of Pierre Part, and Cathy and Lenis Theriot, Paincourtville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell and Gladys Mabile, Paincourtville, and Johnny and Marie Mabile, Bayou Corne; two sisters, Nellie LeBlanc, Belle Alliance, and Inez Blanchard, Pierre Part; a brother, Honore Mabile, Pierre Part; 31 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, 10 stepgrandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and 20 stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Alida Morales Mabile; two sons, Reisley Mabile and Abbie Mabile Jr.; a son-in-law, Shelby Giroir Sr.; four grandsons, Curtis Chedotal, Andrew Campo Jr., Billy Giroir and Gregory Foles; and a great-granddaughter, Shelbie Lynn Hicks. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
