Entered into eternal rest on the morning of January 4, 2009, Selby Richardson, Jr., M.D., widower of Margaret Allston Gilreath Richardson. Residence, Hilton Head Island, SC. A private graveside service will be held in Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, SC. Dr. Richardson, was born October 13, 1931 in Sumter, South Carolina, the son of Norman Selby Richardson and Lucile Ingram Richardson. He was a graduate of The Citadel in 1954 and the Medical University of South Carolina in 1957. He served his internship at Columbia Hospital in Columbia, SC. Dr. Richardson was a Captain in the United States Army where he served as a physician for two years in Germany. He practiced Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine for forty years. Dr. Richardson was an honorary member of the South Carolina Medical Association, a former member of the Greenwood County Medical Society, a Life Member of the Association of Citadel Men, former member of the Exchange Club, Greenwood Country Club, Sea Pines Country Club, and McCormick Country Club. He is survived by four sons: N. Selby Richardson, III, M.D. of Charleston, SC, John I. Richardson of Hilton Head, SC, J. King Richardson from Hilton Head, SC and Hugh A. Richardson of Greenwood, SC; five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to The Citadel Development Foundation, 171 Moultrie Street, Charleston, SC 29409. Arrangements by J.
