THE HENRY BULLETIN, Martinsville, Va., Fri., Dec. 29, 1933, p.1, col. 7 [edited]. 'Mrs. M. Alice Hooker, 71, wife of the late W.C. Hooker of Patrick county, passed away Sunday morning in the Stuart hospital, following a long illness. Death was due to a complication of diseases. Funeral services were held from her late home at Elamsville Sunday afternoon. Burial followed in the family cemetery nearby. Mrs. Hooker's husband, the late W.C. Hooker, preceded her to the grave about three years ago. Surviving are two children, Mrs. H. G. Brown, this city and Mrs. S. Tyler Rakes of Endicott. A brother, Jeff D. Ross of Dodson also remains. Mrs. Hooker was a lifelong resident of Patrick county, being reared a short distance from where she resided. She was consistent member of the Brethren church. She will not only be missed by her friends and relatives, but by travelers who went out of the way to stop at her hospitable home.
