Thomas O Scott
Thomas O. Scott, 44, Smithfield, died unexpectedly at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at his home. He was a member of Eastern Parkway Baptist Church, Louisville. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Scott; a daughter, Mrs. Donald Houchen, Smithfield; two sons, Airman Second Class Robert D. Scott, in Iceland, and John Scott, Smithfield; his father Elza Scott, and step-mother, Louisville; two brothers, Laird and Carroll Scott, Louisville; a half-sister, Mrs. Florence Jackson, Louisville, and a grandson, Leslie Lain Houchen, Smithfield. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smithfield Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Couch officiated. Interment was in Smithfield Cemetery. Active pall bearers were Jesse Morgan, James Bruce Rockwell, Jack Wood, Fred Roberts, Ed Taylor and Price Watkins. Honorary pallbearers were Corbin Knight, Brack Houchen, R. N. Doane and J. S. Meade.

NOTE: Florence Jackson was step-sister, not half-sister as stated in above notice.
