Jean Johnson Abbee, age 83, of Edwardsville, died at 7:02 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. She was born on Dec. 5, 1920, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Anderson Johnson. She married H. James Abbee on May 18, 1946, in Worcester, Mass. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two nieces and a nephew of Worcester, Mass. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister. Mrs. Abbee was a R.N. for Dr. Delicate in Edwardsville for 30 years. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a nurse, serving during World War II. Her memberships included Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville and the Ladies Aid of the church. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Edwardsville with Rev. Gary Galen, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Forever Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
