Delmar D. Edwards who was born at Jenny Lind, Arkansas, on January 31, 1900, died in a Fort Smith hospital on New Year's Day, 1960 of a short illness.

Mr. Edwards had spent most of his lifetime in Fort Smith where he was well known as a funeral director and civic leader. He was founder and senior partner of Edwards Funeral Home. His son, Delmar T. Edwards and his nephew J. D. Edwards were business partners with him.

A member of the First Methodist church he formerly had served on the board of stewards.

Besides his wife, Hazel (now deceased 2007) and sons, Delmar T. Edwards, he leaves two brothers, David W. of Fort Smith and Dolphus Edwards of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Delmar the third, Judy Beth, and Jimmy Ray; and three nephews.

The funeral service was conducted Monday morning in the chapel of Edwards Funeral Home by Dr. Fred G. Roebuck. Burial was at RoseLawn cemetery.
