Rites Held For Chas. Alexander
Services for Charles Theodore Alexander, son of Mr. and Mrs. C K Alexander, who died in the Houston Hospital Friday morning, Oct. 14, after several months' illness, were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the First Presbyterian Church. Dr. S E McFadden, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Tupelo, assisted by the Rev. W C McCay, officiated at the service.
Charles Theodore Alexander was born in Houston, Feb. 28, 1918. He graduated from the Houston High School and attended Wood Junior College at Mathiston, Northeastern State Teachers' College in Tahlequah, Okla., and graduated from Mississippi State at Starkville in 1941. Soon after his graduation, he volunteered for the Army, and served 5 ½ years with duty in the Pacific Area, and spent several months in Japan.
In 1946 he married Miss Jane Conrad, of Greencastle, Pennsylvania. For the past three years he had been employed by the Fire Companies Adjuster Company, with offices in Tupelo.
He was an active member of the First Presbyterian church of Tupelo.
He leaves his parents, his wife, one infant son, Charles Theodore Alexander, III; one sister, Miss Virginia Alexander of Lansing, Mich., and one brother, Adolph Alexander of Macon.
