Mary H. "Mimo" (Hanash) Nasrah, 55, of Worcester, died on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at UMass Memorial Hospital surrounded by her devoted and cherished family.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Camille S. "Cam" Nasrah; her two adored children: Andre C. Nasrah of Nashua, NH and Melissa M. Nasrah of Arlington, VA; three brothers: Basile and Julian Hanash in Lebanon and Olis Hanash in Sweden; a sister, Angha Kefrouni in Lebanon; a brother-in-law, Naser Nasrah, and his family, and many nieces, nephews and friends. A brother, Joseph Hanash and a sister, Zarife Touma pre-deceased her. Mary was born in Byblos, Lebanon, a daughter of Elia J. and Regina (Dreik) Hanash. She grew up in Lebanon before moving to Worcester in 1971.
Mary was a gentle but glamorous woman who enjoyed being a wife and mother and making a home and cooking for her family. During her life, she found the time to work as a medical office assistant and to volunteer at the Fallon Clinic in the Hematology and the Pulmonary departments. She was very active in her church, St. George Orthodox Cathedral, where she sang in the choir, participated in special concerts and CDs, and taught Sunday School.
Mary's funeral service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, January 11 and 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday, January 12 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George's Orthodox Cathedral or to the Chelcun Family Fund for Stomach Cancer Research, c/o the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, P.O.
