Lucile Irving Rees returned to her Heavenly Father and the open arms of her beloved parents on January 8, 2009 after complications from a fall.


She was born April 25, 1936 in Mount Pleasant, Utah to Rodney Richard and Hannah Louise Olsen Irving.


She married Thomas Walker Rees on March 19, 1972. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. She was employed as a receptionist and secretary throughout her working career.


She was active in the LDS Church and served in various positions. She enjoyed most serving in the MIA and Sunday School. Recently she served in the Family History Center. Wherever Lucile was found you found children and dogs. She loved their company. She is loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.


Survived by her husband, Thomas; sons, Kendall (Kris) Strate, Clint Strate, Merrill Rees; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen Rowe; brother-in-law, Earl Hodson; sister-in-law, Connie Roper; many cherished nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Gloria, Virginia, Doris, and Kathy; brother, Lee.


Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in the Wales Sanpitch Ward Chapel. Friends may call on Wednesday prior to the services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Wales Town Cemetery.
