Hester L. Heck, 85, a resident of Buckhannon, the Hinkleville community, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007, at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1921, at Pickens, a daughter of the late Ottomore and Elsie Jane Peck Bachman.
On June 5, 1937, she married Lee F. Heck, who preceded her in death Dec. 25, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, Elmer D. Heck and wife, Cora A., of Buckhannon and William Randall Heck and wife, Dawn, of Clarksburg; one daughter, Mary Jane Heck Shifman of Jefferson, Maine; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Lynn Zipperer of Savannah, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Ronald L. Heck, Randal A. Heck, Diane L. Heck Smith, Kelly A. Heck Goheen, Candie L. Heck Gainer, William F. Heck, Amber Rapp and Marlaina Rapp; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Randolph L. Bachman of Pickens and Dennis A. Bachman of Virginia; and two sisters, Cecelia C. Black of Buckhannon and Nellie J. Thorne of Florida.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Ronald Lee Heck; one daughter, Linda Sue Heck; two brothers, Joseph E. Bachman and Arthur C. Bachman; and two sisters, Virginia E. Nethkin and Tressie M. Shiflett.
She was a homemaker.
Viewing will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 24, from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Calvin McCutcheon. Interment will follow in Mt. Union Cemetery. Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements for Hester L. Heck.
