Anna Marie "Ann" Wiley, 96, Altoona, died Thursday at her residence. She was born in Coupon, daughter of Charles A. and Mary B.(Chirdon) McMullen. She married Joseph C. Wiley Feb. 25, 1936, in Altoona and he died July 26, 1971. Mrs. Wiley was predeceased by son, John Joseph, in 1963; three brothers: Russell, Michael and John McMullen; and a sister, Bernadette Miller. Surviving are three sons: Thomas J. (Jan) of Annapolis, MD, Daniel M. (Carol) of San Marcos, California, and Francis R. "Frank" (Mary) of Altoona; two daughters: Mary Ann (Donald) Courtney of Landenberg, PA, and Susan L. (James) Kaiser of Bethel Park, PA; 26 grandchildren: Kathleen Brockett, Donald Courtney Jr., Mark Courtney, Karen DeLeon, Ann Courtney, Mary Beth Brennan, Chris Doorden, Terry Dzik, Jeff Courtney, Joe Courtney, Tim Courtney, Michele Orsino, Amy Lopez, Jennifer Cassidy, Molly Walker, Matthew Wiley, Jessica Wroblicky, James Kaiser Jr., Julie Kaiser, Jonathan Wiley, Bryan Wiley, Kirsten Wiley, Nicholas Wiley, Jordan Wiley, Justin Wiley and Erica Wiley; and 38 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wiley graduated with honors from Altoona Catholic High School in 1930. She enjoyed following and sharing family activities, BGHS sports teams and Notre Dame, Penn State and Steelers football. She was a homemaker and an associate with McMullen Furniture Co., Juniata. She was a member of St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona, and a former member of the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament. Friends will be received from 2-7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Jones Funeral Home, Altoona, where a vigil for the deceased will be celebrated during the visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church, Altoona, with Father D. Timothy Grimme officiating. Committal rites will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
