He was a bomber aerial photographer during WWII. He died over Nadzab, New Guinea. (courtesy Kenneth Sheats)

Gravesite Details

The crew was killed when their plane crashed into a mountain about 17 mi. from their base at Nadzab New Guinea. They were flying a weather recco to Wewak prior to a bombing mission.

Erected 1985 by 90th Bomb Group Association.

Location. 39° 46.769′ N, 84° 6.783′ W. Marker is in Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, in Montgomery County. Click for map. Marker (Memorial #146) is in the Memorial Park of the National Museum of the United States Air Force, with museum access off Springfield Street. Marker is at or near this postal address: 1100 Spaatz Street, Dayton OH 45433, United States of America.
