Neal R. Miller, 85, of Longmont died December 18, 2008 at Berthoud Living Center. He was born April 12, 1923 in Longmont, Colorado, to Ralph and Edith (Plog) Miller.

Neal was a graduate of Longmont High School, and served in the United States Army. He worked for many years at the Miller Shoe Company in Longmont and the Smith Shoe Company in Boulder. He was also involved with model trains.

Neal was a member of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club, Boulder Model Railroaders Club, Rolls Royce Car Club, and Flatirons Classic Car Club. He will be remembered for his friendship with everyone he's known, and his avid love for cars and trains.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Albert Miller and sister in law Marian.

Neal is survived by his nephew Mark Miller and wife Lorene, and two nieces: Trudy Richmond, and Gretchen Hofer and husband Jack

A celebration of Neal's life, "His Going Away Party," was held 1 PM to 3 PM Saturday January 17, 2009 at the Dickens Barn Reception Hall 136 S. Main in Longmont.
