Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Tabernacle Baptist Church. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Monday in Brintlinger's Funeral Home, with 8 p.m. Odd Fellows service. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Sowers was born in Decatur, son of Clarence and Anna Gertrude (Cook) Sowers. He was a retired brick mason, a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a 50-year member of Odd Fellows Lodge 65. He married Nellie Caroline Camp in 1932. She died in 1985.
Surviving are his father of Decatur; sons, Marvin Thural, Robert, Wayne, Rex, Eugene, Darrell and Gary, all of Decatur; Ross of Middletown; daughters, Virginia Foster of Riverside, CA.; Mrs. Jim (Carol) Shafer of Decatur; sisters, Jenny Cutshall and Evelyn Lamb, both of Sarasota, FL.; 26 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.
One sister preceded him in death.
