Funeral services for Mr. Billye L. Adams, 84, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 30, 2007, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Adams was born July 26, 1923 in Strong, AR and passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007, at his residence. He graduated high school from Strong, AR, graduated from Northeast Junior College, LSU, and LSU Law School in 1951. He then practiced law in Monroe until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Adams was a member of the Optimist Club, Monroe Jaycees, Moose Lodge, American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar, and the 4th Judicial Court System. He was also a United States Army Air Corps veteran of WWII.
Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife, June Wright Adams; daughter, Marsha Adams Pollard; parents, Leon Lonza Adams and Minnie Agnes Green Adams; and eight older brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his son, Mark Allen Adams and wife Sharon Hammond Adams of Monroe, LA; daughters, Linda Adams Pertuit and husband Thomas F. Pertuit of Prairieville, LA, and Jane Adams Jalovec and husband Gary Jalovec of West Monroe, LA; ten grandchildren, Paige Schexnaydre and husband Clint, and Drew Pertuit and wife Beth, all of Prairieville, LA, Rachel Pollard and Mallory Pollard, Lori Manfull and husband Wes, Tracy Alexander and husband Andy, Kevin Adams, Josh Adams, Luke Jalovec and Maggie Jalovec, all of the Monroe area; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
