Iva Jean Lindahl 80, 321 So. Tindolph, Thief River Falls MN passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 at Altru Hospital Grand Forks ND.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Greg Schram officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Iva Jean Brenna was born July 4, 1927, to Calmer and Sigrid Johnson Brenna, Huntley Township, Marshall County, Middle River MN. One of twelve children, she was Baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church and a 1945 graduate of Middle River High School. Following graduation Iva Jean was employed as Floor Supervisor for Ben Franklin Thief River Falls.

On Sept. 5, 1949, Iva Jean married her high school sweetheart, Luverne Lindahl at Thief River Falls. The couple resided for a time in the Twin Cities area, Middle River, Greenbush, E. Grand Forks, Kennedy, MN and Waukegan, IL and for many years have made Thief River Falls their home and presently own Lindahls' Furniture where Iva worked until recently when failing health prevented it. She worked at Tony and Vi's Café, Greenbush for many years, was a talented, creative seamstress and a partner with Luverne in Lindahls' Upholstery. As an Independent Avon Sales Representative in this area, Iva Jean made many lasting friendships. Family and friends were always welcome for coffee and an invitation was always extended to enjoy the delicious soups and meals she prepared. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she will always be remembered for her compassion and caring for others.

Iva Jean is survived by Luverne, her devoted husband of 58 years, sons Craig (Marci) Lindahl and John Lindahl of Thief River Falls, grandchildren Craig Allan Lindahl , Kelsey Lindahl, Fargo ND, Sterling Lindahl, Zandi Olson, Menaga, MN , Great-grand children Ryleigh Lindahl , Kempsey Amundgaard Thief River Falls, one sister Sonia (Wayne) Wegge International Falls, MN. Sisters-in-law Jean Brenna Cloquet MN, Helen Lindahl Winnipeg, Manitoba, Aldyne (Richard) Salmi, Daphnie, AL , brother-in-law Glen (Ruby) Lindahl, Dubuque IA and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by two sons Gregory in infancy, Mark in 1986, parents Calmer and Sigrid, six brothers Odell, Russell, Gaylord (infancy), Calmer Jr, Warren , Loren Brenna and four sisters Gail Brooks, Melva Millard, twins Carrie and Calma (infancy).
