He was born in Manlius township, five miles north of Marseilles in LaSalle county, on April 25, 1853. He was married to Emma Smith on Nov. 21, 1894. For two years they resided in Elgin before moving to Plato Center 15 years ago where they have since resided.
Surviving him besides his widow are a son, Robert Hobart and a daughter (sister-in-law not daughter), Mrs. Walter (Bessie) Bitzer, all of Plato Center. One son, John, died on May 20, 1928.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 (D.S.T.) at Norris mortuary. Burial will be at Marseilles at 1 (C.S.T.) Friends may call at the mortuary.
