Myrtle Hiatt Dies – 1979
Word has been received here of the death of Myrtle May Hiatt, 93, of the Eastern Star Home at Boone, on Monday, January 8th. She had lived at the home since July 9, 1970.
She was born November 30, 1885 in Frontier County, Nebraska the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. William Morgan. She had been a telephone operator and milliner and was a former resident of the Earlham and Peru communities. She ws also a member of the Methodist Church and the Earlham Chapter No. 294 Order of Eastern Star where she was Past Matron of the chapter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 10th at 10 a.m. at the Eastern Star Chapel with Rev. Robert Culberston officiating. Burial was in the Earlham Cemetery at Earlham. --Winterset Madisonian, Iowa, 31 Jan. 1979
