Emma Faye Hatcher
Emma Faye Hatcher, age 73 of Altus, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Hatcher was born on March 30, 1932 at Littlefield, Texas, to James Wesley and Sarah Myrtle (Barnes) Elder. Moving from Texas to Oklahoma at the age of eight, she spent most of her life in Southwest Oklahoma. Emma Faye was an accomplished artist and spent several years working for the State of Oklahoma as a draftsman. Being involved in her Sunday School Class, church activities, senior citizen's events and spending time with her friends and family were her favorite things of life. Emma Faye was always helping others. She was a loving and caring person who never met a stranger and was often taking food to those in need.
Her parents and great-grandson, Caden Kersey, preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, Jim Kersey and wife Anita of Del City and Susan Kersey of Redding, California; two sisters, Frances Burl of Oklahoma City and Ella Mae Harper of Naples, Florida; three grandchildren, Christopher Kersey and wife Desiree of Moore, James Kersey of Del City and Stephanie Hamil and husband Tad of Enid; two great-grandchildren, Christian Kersey and Nicole Kersey both of Moore and a very special friend, Johnny Sims of Blair.
