DYLAN ANTHONY ROY

Dylan Anthony Roy, 14, of Jersey Hill Road, Amsterdam passed away peacefully early Friday, May 23, 2008 at his home with family and friends at his side, following a long battle with cancer.

Born in Amsterdam on Sept. 15, 1993, he was the son of Mary E. Nelson and the late Daniel Frasier. Dylan was a ninth grade student at Galway Central School where he played soccer and took part in school plays. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid WWE Wrestling fan. A highlight in his life was meeting his favorite wrestler, Jeff Hardy, on Sunday, January 27th of this year, as well as other wrestlers. His beautiful smile and loving nature will always be remembered. Dylan was of the Roman Catholic faith.

His loving mother, Mary E. Knapp survives as well as his step fathers; David J. Knapp and William L. Roy, Sr.; He also leaves his brothers; Will Roy age 17, and Hunter Roy, age 9; maternal grandparents; Bill and Vicky Nelson of Amsterdam; Uncle; Erik Nelson; cousin Seth Nelson and great grandmother; Olga Cisaretti of Amsterdam; Paternal grandparents; Leonard and Anne Frasier of Broadalbin; Anita Knapp and Bill Knapp, and Dorothy Warwick as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be offered on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 11 o'clock at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic in Broadalbin with the Rev. Thomas Morrette as celebrant. Everyone is kindly asked to go directly to the church. Internment will follow in Union Mills Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2008 from 3 until 7 at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, where arrangements have been entrusted. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a contribution be made in Dylan's name to the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center, in care of the funeral home office. Dylan's family is truly grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love and support that has been shown to him as well as themselves during this journey.
