Hastings resident Odessa Merle (Hendrickson) Anderson, 95, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1997, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Joe Scahill officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Order of the Eastern Star services will be provided by O.E.S. Acacia Chapter No. 39. Visitation is 2-9 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Butler-Volland Funeral Home.
Mrs. Anderson was born June 16, 1901, to John Wesley and Katie Ethelyn (Dellenbaugh) Hendrickson in Peoria, Ill. On April 17, 1922, she married John Pearson Anderson. In 1944 they moved to Hastings from Pauline. She worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot during World War II. She also was a homemaker. Her husband died Sept. 1, 1967.
She was a 50-year member of First United Methodist Church and was a member of its United Methodist Church Women. She also was a 50-year member of O.E.S. Acacia Chapter No. 39.
Survivors are one daughter, Ethelyn Merle "Lyn" Templin of Hastings; two sons, Bernel and Donald of Hastings; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and one grandchild.
Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church or O.E.S. Acacia Chapter No. 39.
