Lewis R. Ashlock
Lewis R. Ashlock, 61, of 82 Sunnyvale Drive. died at his home Saturday morning. Mr. Ashlock was born near Ashland, May 10, 1914, to George and Edith Crane Ashlock. He married Clara McCoy on Sept. 4, 1936. Mr. Ashlock was a member of the Nashville Baptist Church and American Legion Post 152 of Ashland. He served in the armed forces in the South Pacific during World War II. After working in the parking meter department of the Columbia Police Department for 12 years, Mr. Ashlock retired in 1973 because of ill health. Mr. Ashlock is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Dwayne Brooks, Sturgeon; and a granddaughter. The Rev. Donald Snyder will conduct services at 2 p.m. Monday at the Nashville Baptist Church, Rt. N. Burial will be in the church's cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. today until noon Monday at the Burnett Funeral Home in Ashland.
