Her mother, Mattie, had a 2nd marriage to rancher, James Crawford, in 1882 in Tulare County. From that marriage Anna was using the Crawford name. That marriage did not last as James Crawford remarried in 1888.
Anna gave birth to her son, Roy, nine days before the wedding. Her mother, Mattie, witnessed the marriage. She moved in with the couple - for the entire marriage, out living Anna. See Mattie's memorial for more.
Anna occasionally went by Anita. She was a member of the Hall of Alida Upchurch Lodge, No. 6 of the Ancient Order of United Workmen of California in 1905 and a member of the San Francisco Lodge of Rebekahs.
