Joseph H. Crane, Jr. "Brud" "Babe" Joseph was the eldest son of Joseph H Crane Sr. and Harriet Milligan Crane. He was the second eldest of eight siblings. (Ruth Crane Smith, George Washington Hall Crane, Katherine Crane Brown, Geraldine Crane Loughran, James Russell Crane, Malcom Crane and Margaret Crane Yarrington)

Joseph H. Crane, Jr. married Edna Mae Kist Crane (May 24, 1908-April 14, 1978 Florham Park, NJ).

Edna Mae Kist was born in Jersey City, NJ. She had three other brothers: James R, John J and Charles Kist. Edna was involved in the First Aid Squad and the Board of Education of Florham Park.

This union produced two children: Jean Crane McNeice Hughes (September 7, 1929-July 25, 1995 Lakewood, NJ) and Robert D. Crane (August 16, 1931-January 26, 2004 Phoenix, AZ) This family lived at 36 Roosevelt Avenue in Florham Park. In their backyard, this family had a big grape arbor.

Joseph H. Crane, Jr. supported his family as an Auditor for the Public Service Gas and Electric Company. He retired in 1971.

Joseph H. Crane, Jr. found time to serve the Town of Florham Park as (1) Volunteer Fireman (2) Kiwanis Club (3) Republican Club (4) Council of the Boy Scouts (5)Various other Committees. He was Borough Councilman 1949-1955.

Joseph H. Crane, Jr. was Mayor of Florham Park, NJ. He was elected in 1956.

Being the eldest son, Joseph, and his wife, Edna, cared for Joseph's parents--Joseph H. and Harriet L. Milligan Crane, Sr. The other siblings would let their parents stay with them for approx a month to give Joseph and Edna a break.

In the early 1970's, Joseph and Edna Crane, Jr moved to 25 Hickory Place in Chatham, NJ. This couple had eight grandchildren. Joseph H. Crane, Jr. died of a massive heart attack.

CRANE LANE is a street in Florham Park that was named after Joseph H. Crane, Jr. after he served Florham Park.

His Daughter-In-Law, Anita Burns Crane (December 22,1923-February 12, 1976) is buried in this cemetery. She was the first wife of Robert D. Crane. This couple had five children (two boys and three girls).
