Martha Alice "Mot" Franks, 60, of Cherokee, died Dec. 26, 2008.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Harris Chapel Cemetery, Cherokee. Officiating will be Shayne Sweaney.

Mrs. Franks was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Irene Thorne; sister, Darlene Fuller; and grandson, Braden Franks.

Survivors include her husband, Sam Franks; her sons, Sam Franks Jr. and wife, Michelle, and Matt Franks and wife, Melissa; and grandson, Devan Franks.

She is also survived by her brothers, Eugene Thorne and wife, Sue, David Thorne and wife, Rita, and Daniel Thorne and wife, Tammy; her sister, Mary Patton and husband, Donald; and brother-in-law, Steve Fuller.

Mot, as she was known by her many friends and family, was a good mother, aunt and helper to a lot of people. She will be greatly missed.

Morrison Funeral Home, of Cherokee, is directing.
