The funeral service for retired Southern Clay Co. production supervisor Luther Leon Boyd of Paris will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
John Smith and Warren T. Sykes will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Boyd's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Boyd, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Paris Healthcare Center.
His wife, Lucile Clayton Boyd, survives. They were married on Aug. 7, 1954.
Born Sept. 1, 1921, in Paris, he was a son of the late Willie Conage and Etna Rena Jones Boyd.
Boyd was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he received the Bronze Star. A family member said he was a raccoon hunter.
He also leaves two sons: Ronnie (Betsy) Boyd and Gerald W. Boyd, both of Paris; a stepdaughter: Charlotte Button of Paris; four sisters: Eva Grey Pierce of Ohio and Alene Clayton, Beatress Cook and Betty Sue Carter, all of Paris; one brother: Jimmy Boyd of Buchanan;
Four grandchildren: Russell and Eric Boyd, both of Paris, Emily Boyd of Alton, Ill., Tyler Boyd of Denver; and seven stepgrandchildren: Pam, Howard and Michael Button and Jessica Beaver, all of Paris, Sarah Murphy of Avon, Ind., Beth Phelan of Trenton and Shane Birdwell of Murfreesboro.
He also was preceded in death by a sister: Myrtle Canady; and two brothers: Willie Gene Boyd and Gerald Thomas Boyd.
