Eli Vunovich, 81 of 5915 Charlotte, died yesterday at the home.
He was born in Yugoslavia and lived in this area 61 years.
Mr. Vunovich retired four years ago as a building contractor.
He was a charter member of the St. George Orthodox Church
in Kansas City, Kansas, and it's St. George's Lodge. His contracting
firm built the church in about 1906 and the church hall in 1951.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louise Vunovich of the home:
Three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Herman, St. Louis; Mrs. Mary E.
Mason of the home, and Mrs. Helen Hancock, 6031 North Michigan;
four sons, V. B. Vunovich, 5405 North Bales; Duke Vunovich, 6018
Holmes; Milan Vunovich, 1801 East Fiftieth, North, and Al
Vunovich of the home; 13 grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren.

Kansas City, Kansas __ The Serbian Benevolent Society, Local St. George Lodge No 43 of the S. N. F. together with the family wishes to inform all lodge membes, relatives, Kumovl and friends all over America, Canada and Yugoslavia that have lost forever from amoung us and that is the family a good model Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grand Father, The lodge one of its first founders, longtime member and pioneer, brother who unexpectedly and to our great sorrow, died April 9, 1963 at 2:30 p.m. at his home. The earthly remains of late brother Eli were delivered to mother earth on April 13 with everlasting respone in Highland Park Cemetery with large participation of relatives, Kumovi and admirers, both Serbian and American Friends. Eli is missed greatly by his family.
In 1919 my Great Grandfather changed the spelling of our last name.

On his death certificate it says that he was born Yugoslavia but on his immigration papers it says that he was born in Hungary who knows which is right.
