Funeral services for John Acord, who died Nov 22d at the home of his son, William R. Acord, on West 7th St, this city, were conducted Monday after noon at 2:30, at the Nazarene Church by the Pastor, W. G. Hanmer.

Interment in the Georgetown cemetery.

John Acord, better known as Grandpa Acord, was born in Lawerence Co., Ohio, on March 23, 1828, and departed this life Nov 22, 1919, at Georgetown, Illinois.

He was married to Becca Rambo, in Hamilton Co., Ill. in the year 1859.

To this union was born one son, Valentine, the mother having died shortly after the birth of her son.

He was married again in 1861 to Emmaline Hedges in White Co., Ill.

To this union twelve children were born, making thirteen in all, as follows.

Valentine Acord, deceased; Mary Elizabeth Haynes, of Georgetown; Isabella Williams, of Ina Ill.; Greenup Acord, of Lyons, Ill.; Mattie Lee, of Ina, Ill.; Sarah Acord, deceased; Anna Acord, deceased; Ella Piper, deceased; Jonnie Acord, Norris City, Ill.; James B. Acord, deceased; Ira Acord, of Georgetown, Ill.; William T. (Should read R.) Acord, of Georgetown, Ill.; Rethe E. Berg, of Reserve, Montana.

He leaves a wife, eight children, a sister and two brothers, to mourn their loss. Besides these he has forty-eight grand-children and thirty-seven great-grand-children and many friends who will miss him.
