GREER - Oleta Rippy Camp, 91, of The Cottages at Brushy Creek, formerly of Laurens, died Thursday, June 25, 2009.

Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Fay A. Camp and daughter of the late E.E. Rippy and the late Victoria Byers Rippy.

Surviving are a daughter, Helen McDowell and husband, Gordon, of Greenville; four sisters, Norma McDaniel of Shelby, Reba Hoopaugh of Charlotte, Lela Pennington of Grover and Doris Cloninger and husband, Carlisle, of Blacksburg; and three sisters in-law, Geraldine Harvey of Elgin, Ruth Rippy and Minnie Rippy, both of Blacksburg.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Camp was preceded in death by two brothers, Eldon Rippy and Allen Rippy.

Services will be held Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at Mount Paran Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. John Adams and the Rev. Ralph May. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m.

Members of the family are at their respective homes.
