He was a decorated officer of the 29th Infantry Division in the European Theater of Operations during World War II and spent many years in the Army Reserve, from which he retired in 1970 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a member of the 29th Division Association and participated in the 50th and 60th anniversary celebrations for D- Day in Normandy, France.
He left his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Swenson Adams, and four children, Prudence Adams, wife of William A. Finn of Charleston, South Carolina, Linda Adams, wife of Robert J. Begiebing of Newfields, New Hampshire, Charbra Adams, wife of Loftus Jestin of Farmington, Connecticut, and Bradford S. Adams, Jr., husband of Sherry F. Adams, of Lake Bluff, Illinois, as well as six grandchildren and one great grandson. He is survived by two brothers, Bertis H. Adams of Westboro, Mass., Dr. Howard C. Adams of Athol, Mass., and one sister, Eleanor E. Crecca of Vista, California. He was predeceased by a younger brother, Clayton W. Adams,, of Northboro, Mass.
There was a private burial service. Contributions in Bradford Adams's memory may be sent to a charity of the sender's choice.
