Obituary, Butler Eagle, May 18, 1929:
Cassius A. Brown, aged 59, formerly of North Washington, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. W. J. Painter, of Tarentum, R.D. 1, at 1 o'clock this morning.
He was born in Butler county and for thirty years was employed in the store of Plummer Miffin at North Washington. His wife died two years ago and at that time he removed to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claire Wise of Evans City. He was visiting his sister at the time of his death.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Frank Fair of North Washington, Mrs. John Brough of Butler, Mrs. Claire Wise of Evans City, Mrs. Charles Hanks of Butler, and Mrs. Albert Christie of Butler, and a sister, Mrs. W. J. Painter, at whose home he died.
He was a member of the Presbyterian church of North Washington.
The body was removed to the old homestead at North Washington.
Funeral services will be held from the old homestead at North Washington at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. W.S. McNeese, pastor of the North Washington Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in the North Washington Cemetery.
