Mrs. James Reams Dies, Rites Sunday

CENTRALIA – Mrs. James H. Reams, 71, Centralia, died at the Boone county Hospital in Columbia on Thursday. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church of Centralia with the Rev. Mitchell Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Born in Columbia on Apr. 22, 1903, she was the daughter of Andrew Price and Laura Mae Palmer Toalson. In Columbia on Oct. 31, 1919, she married James Hall Reams Sr. who died in 1945.

Mrs. Reams was an active member of the First Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens' Club of Centralia. She was a life-long resident of Boone County.

Survivors are four sons, James Hall Reams Jr. and Meredith A. Reams, both of Centralia, Richard H. Reams and Elmo Reams, both of Hallsville; five daughters, Mrs. Homer Rohr, Mrs. Robert Prater, Mrs. Kenneth Ball, all of Centralia, Mrs. George Simpson of Redmond, Ore., and Mrs. Richard Jensen of Tempe, Ariz.; 29 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Dorsey Weaver of Columbia, Mrs. Sally Pemberton of Hallsville and Mrs. Jerry Nienaber of Memphis, Tenn.; five brothers, Estil Toalson, A. P. Toalson, both of Hallsville, Denton Toalson, Robert Toalson, both of Columbia, Raymond Toalson of Mexico. She was preceded in death by two sons and seven brothers and sisters.
