Tom David Pugh, one of Harrisburg's best citizens died suddenly at his home here Friday morning about three or four o'clock. Mr. Pugh was living by himself, and seemingly enjoying good health.
He was found dead in bed when he failed to appear around his home early in the morning, as was his usual custom.
Mr. Pugh was 86 years of age and was born in Pope Co, Miss, July 9, 1862, but had lived here for many years.
Funeral services were held at The Methodist Church here, of which he was a good and faithful member, Saturday afternoon at three o'clock. Rev. W.A. Lindsey, pastor, assisted by Rev. John Collier, pastor of the Baptist Church here, officiating.
Burial was at the City Cemetery with Griffin Funeral Home of the city in charge.
Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. E.D. Dunn of Harrisburg, Mrs. W.D. Boone of Batesville; Mrs. G.L. Moore of Marks, Miss; Mrs. H.G. Poteete of Clarksdale, Miss; two sons; Geoffrey Pugh of Jonesboro and Chesney Pugh of Harrisburg; twenty five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Thomas Davis Pugh, 86, of Harrisburg, Ark, died in his sleep sometime Thursday night. He had apparently been in his usual good health before retiring, having as was customary gathered vegetables from his garden in late afternoon.
Funeral services will be held at three o'clock this afternoon at the First Methodist Church of Harrisburg.
Mr. Pugh was proceeded in death by his son, Chauncey D. Pugh
Mr. Pugh is survived by sons Geoffrey Hoyt Pugh and Chesney Wivis Pugh both of Harrisburg; four daughters, Mrs. E.D. Dunn of Harrisburg, Mrs. W.D. Boone of Batesville, MS, Mrs. G.L. Moore of Marks, MS. and Mrs. A.G. Poteete, of Clarksdale, MS, and several grandchildren.
