Orvid Vincent Anthony was born February 6, 1860 in Richmond County, Virginia, the son of Vincent A. and Henrietta (Weadon) Anthony. He as one of seven children - Richard Henry, George W., Margaret Elizabeth, Robert Gustin, Arthur L. Emma, and Louis Hamilton Anthony.

He married January 31, 1889 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, to Henrietta Ada Self.

Obit. Orvid Vincent Anthony, affectionally known to his friends as "Mr. Artie" after an illness of several weeks, died at his home at Hague on Sunday night, January 30. Mr. Anthony a retired farmer was born in Richmond County on February 6, 1860, being almost 84 years of age. As a boy and young man he lived in Essex County.
After moving to Westmoreland County, he married Miss Henrietta Self. He has been a resident of Hague for sixty-one years. If he had lived one more day he would have been married fifty-five years. Mr. Anthony is survived by his widow, Mrs. Henrietta Anthony, two daughters, Mrs. E.W. Headley, Hyacinth, and Mrs. B.F. Harrison, Mundy Point, Va., four sons Elton P. Anthony, Hopewell , Va., Milton R. Anthony, Baltimore, Md., J. Marvin Anthony of Hague, Va. and Harry R. Anthony also of Hague.
