William Harper
William D. Harper, 73, of Glenwood and formerly of New London died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs.
Born Dec. 5, 1935, in New London, he was the son of Richard and Mary Fenn Harper.

Mr. Harper lived at Woodward State Hospital from age 3 to 26 and at Henry County Care Facility until 1981. He moved to Elmview Care Center in Burlington and in 1989 moved to Park Place in Glenwood. He was good at adding numbers quickly. He enjoyed trains and watching trains, animal movies and Pepsi in the "blue cans."


Survivors include three sisters, Bonita Pfeiffer of Avalon, Wis., Mary Suzanne "Susie" of New London and Helen Harper of Winfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

No visitation is planned.

The funeral for Mr. Harper will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel in New London with the Rev. Dot Hasler officiating. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery.
