GOSHEN - Corporal Adam Wayne Bopp, 22, of Ft. Benning, GA, died at
5 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, from injuries received in an auto accident at
2 a.m. on Troup Factory Hill, 10 miles south of LaGrange, GA, near Ft.
Benning. He was born Aug. 29, 1986, in Goshen, IN, to Paula K. Bopp
and Mark A. Bopp. He was a 2005 graduate of Goshen High School, and
had lived in this area until he enlisted in 2006. He was an Army
Ranger stationed at Ft. Benning, where he had received basic training
and where he'd graduated from Airborne School, the Regimental Indoctrination
Program and completed the U.S. Army Ranger School in July 2007. He was a veteran
of multiple tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, and had been awarded the Bronze
Star Medal with valor. He is survived by his mother, Paula K. Bopp of Goshen; his
father, Mark A. (Heather) Bopp of Farmington, MI; sister, Jayme L. (Cesar) Santana of
Elkhart; stepsister, Taylor Garcelon of Farmington; a stepbrother, James G. Garcelon
of Farmington; and by his grandparents, James and Carol Bopp of Goshen. He was
preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and MaryLou Smith. Memorial services
will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, with Pastor Ed Arnold of
Pine Ridge Bible Church, Goshen, and Army Chaplain Capt. Phillip Kramer officiating.
Burial will be at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen, with full military honors. Friend may call
from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials
may be made to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. Condolences may be sent
