He was born Jan. 18,1932, in Duncansville, son of the late Charles and Sarah (Steward)Beard. He married Diane L. Marsh Sept. 7,1979, in Erie.
Mr. Beard retired from Bethlehem Steel, Lackawana, N.Y., after 22 years of service.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Beard enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters: Alice Gardner of Centerville and Rose Daily of Millvillage; three sons: Jackie E. and Danny R. both of Corry, and John F. of Spartinsburg; 14 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Paul, in 1963.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
