Mr. Gernerd W. Ockenhouse, 87, of Wadesboro and formerly of Emmaus, Pa. died Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Anson Community Hospital. Funeral services were 11 A.M. Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Red Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Clements and Rev. Carroll Arant officiating. Interment followed in Anson Memorial Park. He was born in Bethlehem, Pa., May 24, 1921, a son of the late Alonzo George and Ida A. Fritz Ockenhouse. He was retired from Ingersol-Rand as bookkeeper and was a member of Fire Company Number 2 in Emmaus. Surviving are his wife, Margaret S. Ockenhouse of the home, children: Margaret Sellers of Wadesboro, Donald R. Heiney Jr. of Bethlehem, Pa., seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Brian Ockenhouse.
