Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Edna Brown, 95, of Tuscola, Il., were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hatfield Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Keith Dudeck officiating. Interment was in Belle Plaine Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Saturday in Tuscola. She was born Feb. 21, 1882 in Venice, Il., the daughter of Dr. Benjamin F. and Molly Mestre Sippy. The family moved to Belle Plaine when the deceased was a child. She was married in 1903 to Charles Pierce Brown, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Brown was the first queen of the Wheat Festival of Sumner County in 1900. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Howard M. (Janice) Naylor of Tuscola, a son, R. Gordon Brown of Freemont, Ca., five grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
