Funeral services for James Edward Joy, 75, retired funeral director, who died Sunday, will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Esther Memorial Episcopal Church, Congress Heights. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery, Woodville, Maryland.
Mr. Joy, who at one time conducted a funeral directing business at Hughesville, Maryland, came to Washington in 1900. He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity and the Ross Council of the Junior Order of American Mechanics.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma E. Joy; a son, J. Frank Joy; three daughters, Mrs. Spencer H. Nutwell, Mrs. Ray T. Jenkins and Mrs. Walter G. Fuller; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
