Lowell M. Mason, well known retired farmer of the rural Mulvane-Belle Plaine area, died suddenly after a brief illness Monday evening at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. He was 77 years of age.
Funeral services were held this morning, Thursday, at 10 o'clock at the Mulvane United Methodist Church. The Rev. Giles Stagner, assisted by Rev. D. N. McAllister, officiated. Charlene Sloan, soloist, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "The Lord's Prayer". Phyllis Miller was organist.
Pallbearers were John Heersche, Roy Coleman, Forrest Butts, Francis Shoup, Carl Lambky and Kline Clewell. Honorary pallbearers were Wayne Fuller, Ira Sence, Elmer Pipkin, Gene Clark, Art McClure, Fred Stunkel, Jess Sheehey and Tom Cross.
Interment was in Mulvane Cemetery with Senter Mulvane Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mason lived his entire life on the same farm on the Belle Plaine road, being born there July 11, 1892. His parents were Walter and Sarah Mason.
