Mary Mildred "Millie" Wright, 72, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Smithville to Bannie and Fleta Brasfield Schumpert. She moved to Amory in 1943 and graduated from Amory High School in 1944. She married Henry Grady Wright in 1951. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church, where she served as choir director. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed music and yard work.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the First Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Wright and the Rev. Scott Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery. Pickle Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Henry Grady Wright of Amory; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Randy Grady and Kathy Wright of Guin, Ala.; one sister, Ruby Green Hill of Amory; three grandchildren, Chad Jones, Rachael Wright and Matthew Wright.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Mary Teresa Matthews.

Pallbearers will be Van Dale Hudson, James Jones, Craig Jones, Norris Robertson, Danny Dwyer and Reid Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Griffith, Barry Blasingame, Barry Woods, Dwight Hill, Billy Wright, Bib Parish, Wayne Thorn, Mac McDivitt, Pat Patterson and Lee Miller.

Memorials may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
