She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She completed business school in Cumberland and started work as a secretary at Shillito Insurance Agency. She also worked at First National Bank of Terra Alta, managed One Valley Bank in Terra Alta, and worked for the Division of Health and Human Resources as a caseworker in Kingwood. The last 11 years she worked as a magistrate assistant in Kingwood.
She was a charter member of the Terra Alta Civic Club, Classy Red Hatters of the Mountaintop, and the Preston County Community Choir.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Richard; one son; one daughter; four brothers; one sister; and five grandchildren.
