Sept. 30 EDON, Williams County, Ohio

DIED: --- At the residence of her daughter Mrs. Hiram Merchant, of Edon --- Mrs. Mary M. Reese, of rupture; aged 86 years 5 months and 21 days. She was born in Huntingdon county, Penn., April 4, 1803. Married in 1826; emigrated to Columbiana county, Ohio, in 1828; to Seneca County, Ohio, where her husband died in August 1870. She was the daughter of one of the earliest pioneer ministers of the United Brethren church; and was a consistent member of that church for over 70 years. She was patient, under her severe sufferings, yet, when summons came it found her ready. Her end was peace. Her pastor, Rev. J. S. Tedrow, preached her funeral sermon from these words: "Blessed are the dead that died in the Lord." She was buried in the Edon cemetery. She was the mother of ten children, six of whom survive her --- 40 grandchildren
