Abstract--Constance Louise Ayersman Thornton of Morgantown died Nov. 2, 2008, at Golden Living Center in Morgantown. She was born in Morgantown, she was the daughter of the late John M. Ayersman and the late Gertie Moran Ayersman. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick E. Thornton, in 1995; a son, John F. Thornton, in 1989; sister, Juanita Ayersman, in 1946; and a brother, John Ayersman, in 1993. She lived in Friendship Manor for many years, having came to Morgantown after her husband's retirement from West Virginia Tech in Montgomery in 1970. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Jean Thornton of Frederick, Md.; a sister, Edna Ruth Ayersman Wolfe of Morgantown; grandchildren, Thomas Thornton and his wife, Elaine, of Manassas, Va., Susan Hiles and her husband, Mike, of Frederick, Md., and David Thornton of Roanoke, Texas; great-grandchildren, Joshua Thornton, Jamie Thornton and Justin Kunkel; and several nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
